Head Winery Dog

No winery is complete without a winery dog! Rhett is a great friend and a champion pointing Labrador retriever. Anyone who thinks dogs can’t communicate and understand humans has to meet Rhett. Amazingly intelligent, he is joyous in the field and at home with his faithful companion, Robb. He is as complicated and nuanced as few creatures can be!

Cellar Master/Owner

Robb Bell is the Cellar Master and Owner who had a long career in consumer package goods and strategic business consulting before he saw an opportunity for change and bought a very small winery from his neighbor Don Flerchinger in 2003. Robb spends about half his time on winemaking and grape finding activities and the other half on managing the many other facets of the winery. He is proud to declare that a very experienced and capable team backs him in every area.

Michael Sebastiani

Master Winemaker

Michael is our Master Winemaker and a fourth generation winemaker of the Sebastiani family. Winemaking is in his blood. He grew up making wine and went to University of California at Davis to complete the winemaking program. He went on to become the youngest Head Winemaker at Viansa Winery and did a magnificent job. He currently owns and operates the Generations of Sonoma Winery in Sonoma, California, which sells fine wines throughout the United States. We are privileged to have him make wine for us at Cathedral Ridge. He visits Hood River regularly to make sure all is well and lend his special brilliance to our blending and winemaking activities.

Manager of Operations and Vineyards

John is Manager of Operations and Vineyards. Robb has known John since the time he was born and he helped Robb for many years on several projects. John is a master of all trades and a tireless worker with a lifetime of jobs, from successful construction companies to running his own catering business under his belt.

Assistant Winemaker

Our rock is Francisco, the Assistant Winemaker and the go-to guy for all the ins and outs of operations. Francisco has been with Cathedral Ridge since the beginning. He had worked for the previous winery, Flechinger’s and we were blessed to have had him come work for us. We count on Francisco to keep us doing the right things. Many members of his family have worked here helping us from picking to pruning and bottling to labeling. We are very fortunate to have this beautiful spirit on our side.

Assistant Winemaker/Barrel Master

The young buck of the crew; Tyler McCafferty is our Assistant Winemaker and Barrel Master. Tyler brings a tireless enthusiasm and good cheer to his job. He is currently attending college to get his degree and is taking winemaking classes, from which we will all benefit.

Jocelyn Bentley-Prestwich

Administrative and Marketing Manager

The Hood River team is guided by Jocelyn, our Administrative and Marketing Manager, and Gina, our Wine Club and Shipping Manager. Jocelyn is a very Renaissance person who is a passionate and knowledgeable wine and food lover, horticulturalist, concert oboist, and is a superb roller derby jammer. Her intelligence and industry are a key factor in our smooth operations.

Gina is complete sunshine and never forgets a customer. She too, is very passionate about her wine and is also a fantastic cook and entertainer; as almost all of our team-members are. Her style and enthusiasm set the tone for our winery and are a critical component of the success we enjoy serving customers and our wine club.

Dundee Manager

Sandy is the General Manager of our Dundee tasting room location. She has done a fantastic job building our business in Dundee with her tireless charm and enthusiasm. She, like the rest, is a Renaissance woman and has amazing decorating and remodeling talents that she used to beautify our Dundee tasting room. We are very fortunate to have a person so committed and trustworthy to run this side of Cathedral Ridge.

Dundee Assistant Manager

Ashley is the Dundee Assistant Manager and helps Sandy make the very best out of our Willamette Valley tasting room. She is also always excited to help out at shows and events when we need it. Ashley is a critical contributor to our success in Dundee.
