Molasses Marinated Flank Steak

Perfect pairing for: Rusty Red

One of our favorite fall meals pairs our amazing, slightly off-dry Rusty Red Reserve with a sweet and savory Molasses Marinated Flank Steak. This combination is so incredibly comforting with a big bowl of mashed potatoes for the extra sauce, and hearty Brussels sprouts. As an added bonus, if there happens to be any Rust Red wine left after dinner, it also goes wonderfully with a dark chocolate dessert!

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Tenderize meat and score diagonally.
  2. Mix all ingredients except steak in a bowl.
  3. Place steak in a baking pan and pour mixture over, saving a bit for basting and for sauce.
  4. Broil about 2 inches from heat, 5-7 minutes on each side, depending on thickness and preference.
  5. Let rest for 10 minutes. Slice against the grain to serve.
As mentioned, a side of creamy mashed potatoes and crunchy Brussels sprouts complete this comforting meal that’s meant to be shared. Just make sure your guests bring an extra bottle of Rusty Red!
